Since high school, I have always been passionate about physics in a way that made want to tell people the beauty of it. I was always trying to discuss about it with friends and relatives, sometimes being comically dismissed.

Then I started tutoring younger students during university, as this was for me an fun way to pay some of my studies, and realized that I like teaching. I like seeing people wondering about the same questions I was wondering about years earlier, seeing them getting inspired by the same beauty, getting creative with it, understanding it.
And maybe become a fellow passionate colleague in the future. Of course this is not always the case, as people do need to just pass the exams and get over it, but if just one among all of my students gets inspired by the subject I am teaching then, even if for a small part, I would be feeling to have done something good.

And the experience helps also if you want to continue in the academic career, as at some point, if you stay in college you will have to start teaching.

So when I got the PhD position I thought “why not start now?”
Good practice for me, I liked it already, added value in the resume and also would have been paid for it.

Seemed like a no brainer for me
