It’s very rare that I would spend the whole day in the lab, usually I’d be going between the lab and my desk, going outside for some fresh air or a cup of coffee.
Pretty much everyone I work with makes a point of stopping work around lunch time and getting together to have a chat and eat food.
I know I can’t work when I’m hungry, I’m more likely to rush something to get it done so I can leave, or I might have shakey hands from low blood sugar ( for my work having a steady hand to pick up samples with a tweezers is really important!)
I always keep snacks in my desk drawer!

I have to bring two lunch boxes with me everyday to keep me fueled! And probably too many cups of coffee..
