This is a really great question and I’ve been thinking about it for a while, there are so many events I’d love to go back in time and experience, the moon landing or the sailing of the titanic would be incredible things to experience.
But I think the most interesting scientific discovery that had an immediate impact would be to go back 123 years to this day to November 8th 1895, to a small lab in Germany where Wilhelm Röntgen first, by accident, discovered x-rays.
I would have loved to have seen the look on his face when he first saw his own flickering ghostly skeleton and what he thought he had discovered! Two weeks later he had figured it out and x-rayed his own wifes hand!

Another fun fact is that, for his discovery he won the first ever Nobel prize in 1901!
