There are many applications to my research, because it focuses on the underlying science. Because I’m looking at more of a principle, I can very easily translate the goal of my research to many fields, including paralysis research!

Doing scientific research is like building a whole house with tiny lego blocks – you start with one lego, and you build a base first before moving upward. Each experiment is like one lego block, but the more experiments you lay down, the more of a foundation you have to move forward and build upward. Hopefully by the time I finish with my time here at NUI Galway, I’ll have a foundation built so I can work toward the bigger goal!
